Baptism
Baptism is a sacrament that signifies a person's acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and their commitment to living a life of faith. It is usually performed through the sprinkling, pouring or immersion in water and is considered a public declaration of one's faith in Christ.
Baptism does not result in automatic membership into a church. It involves a period of instruction or classes in the teachings and practices of the particular church, followed by a formal acceptance into membership.
Reception into membership
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
